AMONG Us Crewmate Free Pattern

Pattern Description:

Create a standing Among Us crewmate plush using soft fabrics like minky, fleece, or velvet. You’ll need main-colored fabric, light grey/blue for the visor, white for the glint, matching thread, stuffing, scissors, pins, and, optionally, a sewing machine.

Trace and cut the pattern pieces with ¼″ seam allowance, pin and sew darts on the body and oxygen tank, and attach the glint to the visor. 

Assemble the tank, sew the body and feet, turn right side out, stuff, and close openings with ladder stitch. Attach the visor and tank to finish your plush.

Materials Needed & Measurements:

To create the standing crewmate plush, you will need the following supplies and tools:

• Main fabric: Minky, velvet, or fleece in your chosen color (options include purple, blue, cyan, green, red, orange, yellow, brown).
  • Measurements: 15″ x 10″.
• Light grey/light blue and white fabric: Small scraps for the visor and the glint.
• Matching thread.
• Among Us plush template: A free PDF file is available for download. This pattern should be printed at 100% scale without any scaling.
• Polyester stuffing.
• Scissors.
• Sewing clips or pins.
• Fabric pen or a sharpie.
• Handsewing needle and white thread.
• Sewing machine: This is optional, as the plushie can also be hand-sewn.

Instructions for Making the AMONG Us Crewmate Pattern:

Tracing and Cutting Fabric Pieces

Trace the plush pattern pieces onto the back of your chosen fabrics. Remember that the pattern does not include seam allowance, so you must leave a 1/4″ seam allowance around each piece, except for the glint.

Trace as follows:

• Main fabric: Two main body parts, two foot pieces, one oxygen tank-front, and one oxygen tank-back.
• Light grey/blue fabric: One visor piece.
• White fabric: One glint piece.

For cutting, cut 1/4″ from the traced pattern lines for all pieces, except for the glint, which should be cut exactly according to its pattern without adding seam allowance. You should have a total of eight fabric pieces.

Pinning the Darts

You will need to pin darts on the oxygen tank front piece and both main body parts.

• Oxygen Tank: Fold the oxygen tank piece in half diagonally, with the right sides of the fabric facing each other, and pin the darts. A helpful tip for precise dart pinning is to push a pin near the top of the dart line through both layers of fabric. Check if it exits precisely on the dart line of the back layer. Adjust if necessary, then pin about ¼ inch from the dart line so you can sew without removing the pin.
• Main Body Pieces: Fold each main body piece in half with the pretty (right) sides together and pin the darts.

Sewing the Glint, Visor, and Darts

Now, proceed with sewing in the following order:

• Glint to Visor: Place the glint on the top left of the visor, allowing for the seam allowance. Thread a handsewing needle with white thread and knot the end. Use a whip stitch to attach the glint to the visor, pulling the needle from above as close to the glint’s edge as possible.
• Visor Darts: Fold the visor in half with the right side inside the fold and sew both darts using a backstitch. Knot your thread at the beginning and end of each seam.
• Oxygen Tank Darts: Sew the two darts previously pinned on the front part of the oxygen tank. Unfold the oxygen tank, then fold it diagonally to the other side, pin, and sew the remaining darts. To reduce bulk, trim the seam allowance of the darts down to 1/8 inch.
• Main Body Darts: Place the two main body parts on top of each other with right sides facing and pin them together. Do not sew the feet yet, as the feet circles will be attached later. Also, leave the middle of the bottom side unsewn, as this opening will be used for turning and stuffing the crewmate body.

Assembling the Oxygen Tank

Pin the oxygen tank back piece to the front piece, ensuring right sides are facing. Mark a 1-inch gap for turning, either with double pins or a fabric pen. 

Sew around the tank using either a backstitch or your sewing machine to speed up the process.

Sewing the Crewmate Body

Sew the plushie main body parts together as pinned, being careful to leave three gaps unstitched. These gaps are for attaching the feet and the bottom opening. 

Pin the feet to the crewmate body and hand-sew them using a backstitch. The feet are very small, so hand-sewing is recommended over using a machine for easier execution.

Turning Right Sides Out

Once the sewing is complete for both parts, carefully turn the oxygen tank right side out. Then, turn the standing crewmate body right side out through the unstitched opening at the bottom.

Stuffing the Plushie

Begin by filling the oxygen tank with polyester stuffing. Do not overstuff; just fill it enough. Next, fill the standing plushie body with stuffing. 

Make sure to stuff it well, especially the legs, as the plushie can take a surprising amount of stuffing. 

A tip for easier and faster stuffing is to roll a handful of stuffing with your hands to deflate it slightly before filling it using your fingers.

Closing Gaps with Ladder Stitch

Sew the openings of both the oxygen tank and the crewmate body using a ladder stitch. Once you have stitched the gap, pull the thread to close it tightly.

Stitch a couple of times for security, then push the needle through the loop of the thread twice to create a knot. 

Push your needle through the plushie an inch or so from the end of the stitch and cut the thread; it will disappear inside the body.

Attaching the Oxygen Tank

Pin the completed oxygen tank to the back of the crewmate body using four pins, one on each side. Sew both parts together securely using a whipstitch.

Attaching the Visor to the Head

Make a running stitch around the edge of the visor. Do not knot the thread or pull the needle out. Gently pull the thread to gather the visor’s seam allowance slightly, allowing you to fold it under. 

With the needle still attached to the thread, pin the visor to the head of the crewmate, ensuring it is horizontally centered. 

Sew around the visor to attach it to the body. Stop about 1/2 inch from your starting point, insert a small amount of polyester stuffing into the visor, and then continue sewing it closed.
