Band Instructions
- Row 1 (WS): With the smaller hook (4mm/G) and Color A, ch 17 (19, 21, 23). Work 1 sc in the 2nd ch from hook, then 1 sc in each ch across. Turn, you should have 16 (18, 20, 22) sts.
- Row 2 (RS): Ch 1 (not included as a st), work 1 sc in the blo of each st across. Turn, you should still have 16 (18, 20, 22) sts.
- Rows 3-64 (72, 80, 88): Rep Row 2.
- After the final Row, turn, with RS facing, fold the band together, ch 1, and sl st the band together.
Body: Mosaic Pattern
- Round 1 (RS): With the smaller hook (4mm/G), ch 1 (not included as a st). Work 1 sc in each row around the band. Sl st in the blo of the first sc to join. Change to Color B and larger hook (5mm/H), you should have 64 (72, 80, 88) sts.
- Round 2: With Color B and larger hook, ch 1. Work 1 sc in the blo of each st around. Sl st in the blo of the first sc to join. Change to Color A, you should have 64 (72, 80, 88) sts.

Decrease Rounds

- Toddler (Adult) Round 2: With Color B, Work 1 sc in the first 2 sts. Work 1 sc2tog across the next 2 sts; rep from around. Sl st in the first sc to join, you should have 36 (45) sts. Fasten off with a long tail for sewing.

Finishing
- With a yarn needle, weave the yarn tail through every other st around the top of the hat.
- Pull the hat tight to close the top. Continue to weave the yarn around, ensuring the opening is fully closed. Weave the yarn in the opposite direction to secure it.
- Trim the tail and weave in all remaining ends.
- Attach a faux fur pom pom by sewing a snap to the top of the hat. Blow-dry the pom pom to fluff it and then snap it to the hat. Add a garment tag for a personalized touch.
