Stitching Instructions for Making the Little Stars Trimming Pattern:
Starting the Border:

- Begin by joining your yarn to the edge of your project (for example, a granny square). To create the base for the stars, work along the edge with the following repeat:
- Hdc 2, hdc inc 1 The increase (hdc inc) should be worked in the same stitch, forming a small ring that will later hold the star.
Creating the Star:

Now that you’ve created the base for the stars, we’ll move on to the actual star shape.
- Step 1: Ch 1, sl st around the post of the second hdc in the ring.
- Step 2: Make a picot stitch: (Ch 3, sl st in back bump of the first ch). This will form the first point of your star.
- Step 3: Sl st back into the ring.
- Step 4: Repeat the picot stitch: (Ch 3, sl st in back bump of the first ch) and sl st in the ring.
- Step 5: Now, sl st around the first hdc of the ring.
- Step 6: Repeat the picot stitch: (Ch 3, sl st in back bump of the first ch) and sl st back into the ring.
- Step 7: Sl st into the top of the second hdc, make a picot stitch (Ch 3, sl st), and sl st in the same stitch.
Completing the Border:

- After finishing one star, move on to the next set of stitches:
- Step 8: Ch 1, hdc 2.
- Step 9: Repeat from Step 1 to form additional stars along the edge.
For Corner Spaces:

- At the corners, work the following:
- [Hdc 2, ch 2, hdc 2] in each corner stitch. This will create a smooth, rounded corner, ensuring the stars fit neatly at the corners of your project.
Finishing Instructions:

- Weaving in Ends: After completing the border, use a yarn needle to weave in any loose ends along the edges. This will give your project a neat and polished look.
- Blocking (Optional): If desired, block your project to enhance the stars and give the border a more defined shape. You can either steam block or wet block the project, depending on the yarn you’ve used.
Finished Size:

The size of the Little Stars Trimming will vary depending on the size of the project you’re edging. Each star is small but adds a lovely decorative touch, making it perfect for small or large projects.
You can adjust the number of stars and the repetitions to suit your needs.
